Why We’ve Added ROE Topaz 1.9 to the LUX LED Fleet

Published: 12 Mar 2026

Over the past few months we’ve been expanding our LED inventory with more than 100m² of ROE Visual Topaz 1.9. The investment includes flat, curved and corner panels, giving us greater flexibility when designing LED solutions for live events, broadcast productions, exhibitions and immersive experiences.

Background

Our relationship with ROE Visual began in 2020 when we purchased CB5 panels for a major Steve McQueen exhibition at Tate Modern. Following the success of that project, we expanded our inventory with ROE Diamond panels and as client requirements have evolved, we began looking for a finer-pitch LED solution capable of delivering exceptional image quality alongside greater creative flexibility.

Product Evaluation

We evaluated a range of manufacturers and technologies, including GOB (Glue-On-Board) LED products. While we believe GOB technology is an exciting development and something we may consider in the future, we felt that for our current rental fleet requirements, Topaz offered the best balance of image quality, flexibility, serviceability and long-term value

ROE isn’t the cheapest option on the market, but what continues to set it apart is the quality of its engineering. The rigging systems, ground support solutions and accompanying documentation are among the best we’ve worked with, making deployment safer, faster and more efficient for both our team and our clients.

We took delivery of the curved Topaz panels in September 2025, with the remaining flat and corner panels arriving during January and February 2026. Since then, the system has been in constant use across conferences, live events and broadcast productions.

Key Features

The 1.9mm pixel pitch delivers excellent on-camera performance, while the dedicated corner panels have enabled us to create seamless four-sided columns and more immersive LED structures. One of the standout features for us has been the curved hanging and stacking system developed specifically for the Topaz platform. Having worked with a wide variety of LED products over the years, we don’t believe there’s currently a better solution on the market.

As part of the investment process, we visited ROE Visual’s European headquarters in the Netherlands, where we received product training and a closer look at the company’s latest developments. The support from ROE throughout the process has been excellent, and having access to knowledgeable technical specialists based in Europe has been invaluable.

Alongside the LED investment, we’ve expanded our processing capabilities with Brompton SX40 processors and XD distribution units. As LED canvases continue to grow, often reaching 4K resolution and beyond, investing in the complete signal chain is just as important as investing in the panels themselves.

Our LED systems are frequently paired with Analog Way Aquilon RS4 and Pulse 4K presentation systems, combining powerful presentation switching, scaling and image processing with Brompton’s industry-leading LED processing to deliver outstanding visual performance.

The complete ROE Topaz inventory, including flat, curved and corner panels, Brompton processing and our Analog Way presentation systems, are all available for dry hire. Whether it’s a conference backdrop, a broadcast studio or a large-scale immersive installation, Topaz gives us the flexibility and image quality to deliver ambitious projects with confidence.

If you’d like to discuss an upcoming project, we’d love to hear from you.
